Regional decision makers in the German Baltic Sea region are generally not well informed about climate change in their region - This is the take-home message of a survey conducted by Dennis Bray and Grit Martinez, and which has just now been published as a BALTEX International Secretariat report. The survey was conducted in collaboration with the German regional climate change adaptation project RADOST. Download the report here....

The ship was open for the public, and coastal scientists explained their current research. BALTEX was presented by Marcus Reckermann of the International BALTEX Secretariat, who also presented current findings of regional climate research in the Baltic Sea region. More infos here... - In Memoriam John Roads (1950 - 2008). With sadness and consternation we learned about the untimely death of John Roads, former GHP chair and CEOP co-chair. John was a true friend to BALTEX, he had been a regular participant at BALTEX conferences and, indeed, was the lead author of one of the first comprehensive papers on the water and energy budgets of the BALTEX region. We are mourning with his family, friends and colleagues. A trust fund will soon be established in John's name in favour of graduate students to attend climate science conferences.
